As Charlotte Petsitters, we strive to give you peace of mind while you are away from your beloved pet and home. With years of professional pet sitting experience, Queen City Petsitting is here to steer you away from those crowded and unhealthy kennels and boarding services! Our petsitters provide each pet with the tender love and care they need while you are away.
We are here to provide you with valuable information and tips on how to properly take care of your beloved pet. Please take each tip into consideration in order to grant your pet with a safe and healthy life.
#1 – Pet Insurance can be very beneficial for you & your precious pet
Pet insurance is an easy way to take control of a pet’s medical expenses. Research the various plans that are available and make it a duty to talk to your veterinarian to ensure the most appropriate type of coverage.
#2 – Good preventive care decreases the risk of pet dental disease
Dental plaque, tartar build up, and other bacterial infections are very common. If they aren’t properly taken care of then the spread of them throughout a pet’s body can affect their bodily organs.
Be sure to seek care for a pet if you notice signs such as: bad breath, weight loss, yellow teeth, nasal discharge, and/or red or swollen gum.
Good preventive care includes: purchasing chew toys, brushing teeth, feeding a pet premium pet food, and seeing your veterinarian regularly.
#3 – Store your pet’s food safely
Queen City Petsitting thinks that it is best to store food in a dry, cool place away from sunlight. Improperly storing pet food could give way to mold and other deadly toxins.
Be sure to buy only the freshest pet foods available and keep it in a place with a stable temperature. If the pet food has a foul odor or your pet refuses to eat it – discard the food or return it for a refund.
#4 – Use safer pet products at home and in the yard
Pets tend to be very nosey at times. As a pet owner, you should use products for your home and yard that are safe for pets and also benefit the environment at the same time.
Consider replacing lawn chemicals in favor of organic fertilizers.
During pet bath time, lather up with a natural approach. There are several products available that do not contain any artificial fragrances, sodium lauryl sulfates or artificial color.
Use yard and home products made of recyclable material.
Queen City Petsitting suggests that you invest in environmentally-friendly cleaning products that break-down non-harmful decomposition.
#5 – Purchase sustainable, durable pet products
Buy durable, long lasting toys that your pet can enjoy but not chew up in a matter of minutes! You can even purchase pet toys made of recycled materials, organic cotton, or recycled plastic bottles.
It would be more fun for you and your pet if you make your own toys. Remember, your pet doesn’t care what their toys look like – they just want something fun to play with!
#6 – Go green on holidays!
You should never be ashamed to celebrate holidays with your cat, dog, or snake! Whether it’s your pets birthday or Christmas make sure that each occasion is eco-friendly.
Consider wrapping a pet’s gift in newspaper, and then recycle the paper. It is a good idea to give your pets consumable treats and food. Handmade toys are also a great gift.
